1. Chromium (Cr, Chrome) is of atomic number 24 and atomic weight of 51.9961 in periodic element table.Chromium is a steel grey metal and has luster. And it is ductile. The melting point of Chromium is 1857 degree centigrade and its boiling point is 2672 degree centigrade. Its density of chromium in single crystal is 7.22 g/cm3 and in multi crystal is 7.14 g/cm3 . Chromium is mainly used in stainless steel because of its advantages of high strength and corrosion resistance. It ia also be used in cutting tool and form a coating in steel to resist corrosion by spurt coating, aggradations and diffusion in high temperature.
